Bono Consulting Civil Engineers has prepared over 1500 engineering plans for single-family residential projects in Northeastern Illinois. These projects included topographic surveys, block setbacks, site grading plans, tree identification and tree preservation plans, erosion control plans, driveways, storm sewers, swimming pools, site drainage and grading, stormwater detention, site management plans, erosion control plans, water, storm and sanitary services. After the projects are completed we will prepare the as-built survey to certify that the grading and stormwater detention was installed per the approved plans.
These projects have ranged from simple engineering plans for additions, garages, sunrooms and pools; to more complicated plans for new houses and small subdivisions. We also specialize in homes in the floodplain, either in getting a portion of the property removed from the floodplain or designing the home on a crawl space with flow-through vents

Many communities especially those with flooding problems or in combined sewer areas do not allow storm sewer connections so our designs have incorporated surface water infiltration, rainwater harvesting, rain gardens, cisterns and dry wells. We have a licensed Arborist on staff that oversees the Tree Identification and Tree Preservation Plans.
We also provide a service to individual homeowners to perform professional evaluations of flooding basements and rear yard flooding, to determine the root causes and provide an un-biased opinion of the remedial work required. We are not affiliated with any particular contractor or technology. We have been prequalified with the Village of Wilmette www.wilmette.com/departments/stormwatermanagement/assistanceprograms.aspx to provide consultations with individual homeowners.
Bono Consulting Civil Engineers has established a peer alliance with Platinum Poolcare Aquatech www.platinumpoolcare.com to design their swimming pools. All pools are designed to be in compliance with the Virginia Graeme Baker Pool and Spa Safety Act to prevent suction entrapment.
