Community Utility Solar Arrays, also called solar farms or solar parks, are a large solar powered systems with infrastructure tied into the electric grid. Community Utility Solar Arrays are increasingly popular as they are a way for residents, businesses, and municipal buildings within a community to have access to solar generated power without the need for individual rooftop solar panels. Community members subscribe to the community utility solar array by buying or leasing a share of the solar panels to receive credit on their electricity bill.
Community utility solar arrays provide accessibility to solar generation for those who cannot afford or otherwise install solar panels on their property and offer lower-cost energy bills. Generally, the more subscribers there are to a community solar array, the lower average cost per subscriber.
Bono Consulting and SME provide preliminary site analysis, surveying, environmental review, civil engineering design, and environmental permitting for solar farm projects. For many typical projects, this encompasses a suite of site/civil services performed by SME in-house staff and in coordination with qualified subcontractors.
