About the Role:
SME has a new full-time position for an entry-level Civil Engineer based in either our Aurora or Park Ridge, Illinois, office to support commercial, industrial, and residential site development projects. Our firm’s commercial projects typically include solar farms, restaurants, car washes, strip malls, churches, and mixed-use buildings. Industrial projects include logistics facilities, warehouses, distribution centers, and light industry projects. Residential projects include apartment buildings, townhouses, and high-end single-family homes.
Civil Engineer Responsibilities:
- Manage and design a diverse portfolio of projects
- Spend time in the field to gain hands-on experience
- Participate in all phases of the project life cycle
- Communicate with clients and maintain organized project schedules
- Take advantage of meaningful opportunities to learn and grow toward your potential
- Be supported by experienced senior engineers who are invested in your success
Civil Engineer Qualifications:
- B.S. in Civil Engineering
- Authorization to work in the U.S. required
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, colleagues, and municipal staff
- Deliver projects within budget and on schedule
- Demonstrate initiative to find answers and solve problems proactively
- Strong oral and written communication skills
Benefits:
- Pay Range is $65,000 – $72,000 + based on experience
