Sevee & Maher Engineers / Bono Consulting Civil Engineers is a professional engineering firm licensed in the states of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, and Wisconsin. Founded in 1997, we specialize in preparing the site engineering plans and performing construction oversight for property improvements.
Our clients include land developers, property managers, industrial facilities, schools, churches, park districts, architects, contractors and homeowners. With nearly 30 years of experience, Bono has proudly designed apartment buildings, mixed-use developments, residential subdivisions, townhouses, restaurants, commercial developments, schools, industrial sites, warehouses, medical clinics, churches, and parking lots throughout Chicago and beyond.
Our unique familiarity with the city makes us an asset to developers looking to get through permitting quickly and move their projects into the construction phase. Our permitting work for projects includes the Chicago Department of Buildings, the Chicago Office of Underground Coordination (OUC), Chicago DOT, and Chicago Water Department.
Our Services
Bono Consulting’s Civil Engineering and Permitting work includes topographic, utility and tree surveys; site grading, drainage and utility plans; parking lots, driveways and ADA accessibility; water mains, sanitary mains and storm sewers; storm water detention analysis and design; floodplain compensatory storage design, LOMA applications and elevation certificates; IDOT, MWRD, and IEPA permits; and construction bid package preparation, bidding assistance and construction observation.
Our goal for every project is to provide our clients with a sound engineering design that incorporates constructability reviews to reduce construction costs. We specialize in preparing simple drawings for complex projects and in getting our clients their permits as quickly as possible. We do a great deal of work in the Chicago area markets of Cook County, Lake County and DuPage County. We also serve public and private clients in Indiana, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Iowa.
